The Mailroom Specialist will be responsible for handling various mail and package sorting tasks for a publicly held company. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to interact with internal customers and department representatives efficiently.
Responsibilities
Sort inbound USPS and inter-office mail and packages.
Hand collate printed materials and stuff them into envelopes.
Interact with internal customers and department representatives for mailing and shipping requests.
Handle occasional cash transactions for personal customer mailings/shipments.
Distribute mail/packages to various locations on the corporate campus using a mail cart.
Operate a postage meter to apply postage to outbound mail.
Utilize FedEx Ship Manager software for shipping requests.
Stage inter-office mail and packages for courier pick-up to other company locations.
Use Windows-based computers for verifying mail recipients in the corporate directory.
Use email (Outlook) for correspondence and required training courses.
Spend considerable time walking and standing.
Essential Skills
Experience in a mailroom or similar environment.
Proficient in sorting, clerical work, filing, and scanning.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to quickly learn and operate mailing and shipping software.
Basic computer skills for email and training courses.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Energetic and quick learner.
Ability to handle cash transactions.
Experience using a mail cart, postage meter, and small scale for weighing packages.
Work Environment
This position operates Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. Timekeeping is managed through VMS. The role involves considerable walking and standing. The work environment includes the use of a mail cart, postage meter, computer, and small scale for weighing packages.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
