First Interstate BancSystem Loan Boarding Specialist I in Spokane, Washington

SUMMARY The Loan Boarding Specialist I is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and ensuring that the required closed loan documents have been received, and for the booking of loans to the Loan Accounting System following First Interstate Bank's procedure and policy. Assigned loan products include Consumer, Commercial, and Specialty loan products encompassing simple to complex transactions in accordance with loan closing documents. This position will meet completeness, turn time, and accuracy requirements per established service level agreements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reviews the batch-scanned documents to verify receipt, accuracy, and proper execution of loan documents and that there are no alterations in the documents. Coordinates efforts with appropriate parties to obtain missing information needed to meet boarding requirements. Performs loan activating TMS entries in a timely and accurate manner. Performs job responsibilities in accordance with the completeness, accuracy, and turn time standards per established service level agreements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong personal computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Self-starter and with ability to work with minimal direction. Possess interpersonal skills and team orientation. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to appropriately escalate issues requiring problem-solving and decision-making. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures related to loan servicing. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Accepts shared ownership and accountability for results. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required Bachelor's Degree preferred 1-3 years experience in a financial institution preferred Experience in consumer and/or commercial loan servicing and applicable loan documents preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment are representative of those that must be met or encountered to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
