irl Scouts of Eastern Washington & Northern Idaho is hiring aLeadOutreachField Specialistto join our team in Spokane!Girl Scouts is looking for part-time Outreach Field Specialists to provide afterschool activities for five north Spokane schools for the 2022/2023school year. The Outreach Field Specialist works with girls in various school grades to plan, develop and build projects that are related to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience curriculum (STEM, Outdoor, Entrepreneurship, and Life Skills).Must be 21+ years of age$17.00 to $20.00/hr. DOE (20+hrs./week)Hours will be afternoons and evenings & occasional weekend hours.GSEWNI is a non-profit organization. The GSEWNI council serves an area comprised of 19 counties in Central and Eastern Washington, and 10 counties in Northern Idaho for a total of 29 counties covering 67,000 square miles. The council is headquartered in Spokane, Washington and has regional field staff located in the Tri-Cities, Washington and Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. GSEWNI serves approximately 4,000 girls in kindergarten through 12th grade with the help of 2,000 dedicated adult volunteers. Girls are at the center of everything we do as a council. Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls, the leading authority on girls’ healthy development and we are working daily with girls and women to transform the leadership landscape for girls into the next century.POSITION SUMMARY:The Outreach Specialist is a grant funded position to promote outreach troops in designated Tier 1 schools in the Spokane area. The primary focus for the assistant will be to cultivate an environment of pluralism and diversity in applicable public schools so that Girl Scouting is open to all girls who may be interested to join the Girl Scout movement.The position is responsible for working with the Outreach Program Director and Program Specialist to build Girl Scout Outreach Troops and deliver quality Girl Scout programming to Girls in the program. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal oversite, take initiative, be adaptable, self-managed, organized with strong attention to detail is essential.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:Connect to public school officials to gauge the interest in setting up outreach troops.Work with program team to set up outreach troops and offer advice and support on programming ideas to outreach troop leaders.Support metric and grant evaluation of program; keeping accurate records and measures of outcomes.Imagine other strategies to grow outreach programs in Spokane.GeneralPerforms all other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
