City of Spokane Landscape Architect in Spokane, Washington

The City of Spokane is recruiting for a Landscape Architect position to perform professional landscape architecture and engineering-related work in planning and designing park construction and redevelopment.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licenses & Certificates:
  • Applicants must possess a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
  • Applicants must possess a recognized certificate of registration as a Landscape Architect. Applicants licensed in other states must have the ability to obtain reciprocal licensure in Washington within six months of employment.

     

EXAMPLES OF JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Plans and designs landscapes and facilities for City park construction or redevelopment.
  • Studies parks and park sites to determine landscaping requirements.
  • Prepares designs and detailed blueprints, specifications, and cost estimates for both construction and maintenance.
  • Conducts surveys, and prepares statistical studies and reports regarding anticipated park needs, and coordinates with other departments concerned with long-range planning.
  • Reviews and approves landscape plans for project work by various City departments.
  • Advises and provides technical supervision on park improvement projects by civic and service organizations.
  • Supervises construction and grounds maintenance projects to ensure consistency with the design's intent.
  • Speaks before various civic groups on maintenance and park topics.
  • Participates with community groups in the coordination of projects from design through implementation.
  • Performs related work as required.
