SNAP Intake Specialist/Housing Services in Spokane, Washington
SNAP is seeking a qualified individual for an Intake Specialist position to work in SNAP's Housing Services Core. This position is full-time and open to all qualified individuals.

Position Summary: Responsible for the screening and intake of client information for eligibility and processing of the Minor Home Repair and Single Family Rehab teams.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports operations as needed which includes phone, email and in person communications with clients, document gathering, data entry, and responding to inquiries about programs.
- Works with coworkers and volunteers to promote a positive, respectful, and productive working environment, while protecting client confidentiality and dignity.
- Screens clients requesting Minor Home Repair and Single Family Rehab services ensuring completion of required intake information.
- Enters data into database; compiles and completes records and reports and maintains paperwork for files within program guidelines.
- Cross trains to further assist the Loan Processor or MHR Qualifier in their duties.
- Assists with marketing of housing improvements programs.
- Provides excellent customer service at all times as well as helps to grow the customer service culture within the agency.
- Completes assigned projects and performs related duties as needed or situation dictates
- Within the context of the stated principal job duties, serves as an ambassador of SNAP's mission and values
Education and Experience
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent required; Minimum three years of administrative or clerical experience.
- Preferred: Additional education and experience in administrative services preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to empathize with and advocate for low-income households, and to maintain confidentiality with personal information
- General office skills, including working with multi-line phone system, filing, and basic bookkeeping
- Proficient in computer operations including word processing, spreadsheets, and database
- Knowledge of minor home repair and single family rehab techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on effectively working in a team environment and with a diverse population
- Strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills, with ability to organize and maintain substantial records
- Ability to work independently, using initiative and judgment to resolve problems and ensure workflow is appropriately addressed in a timely manner
