Introduction to the team

We are currently seeking a Revenue Cycle Senior Consultant for our Health Care Consulting practice. The Senior Consultant will join our growing team focused on helping providers improve their revenue cycle functions. Our revenue cycle team provides broad-based help for our clients, including hospitals, health systems, Tribal Organizations, and medical group practices.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in revenue cycle assessments for clients to evaluate functions including patient registration, charge capture / documentation, and billing and collections as well as use of systems functionality and accounts receivable metrics.

  • Conduct client interviews and work sessions to understand current state revenue cycle systems, operational processes, and workflows.

  • Complete in-depth analyses of client revenue data to determine true performance, root causes, and possible solutions. This will be completed in MS Excel along with BI and data visualization tools.

  • Assist in development of reports for clients which outline findings and recommendations for improving revenue cycle operations.

  • Coordinate activities involving progress tracking, developing deliverables, and information gathering.

  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Business, Finance, Accounting or Health Care Related Field) required.

  • A least 2 years’ experience in healthcare consulting or in a healthcare provider setting required.

  • Understanding of healthcare revenue-related code sets (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, etc.) and claims payment methodologies.

  • General Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), CMS regulations, and other industry-relevant compliance requirements.

  • Knowledge of key healthcare provider processes in one or more areas including, but not limited to: patient registration, charge capture, billing, collections, medical records, payer contracts, denial management and financial operations is preferred.

  • Experience with EHR, and patient accounting systems such as EPIC and Cerner preferred.

  • Solid understanding of healthcare provider financial operations, including hospitals, physician practices, and other health care organizations.

  • Highly experienced in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

  • In-depth financial analysis, data manipulation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including documentation of findings and recommendations.

  • Great listening skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • We have a national team that collaborates virtually, and travels as need to meet client needs. Travel may be up to 75%, but is generally significantly less.
