Healthcare Educator at Providence Health Care Region, Spokane, Washington

0.01 FTE, Per Diem/On-Call, variable shift position

The main role of this position will be to teach BLS, CPR and American Heart Association classes. The EMS Instructor is responsible for assessing, planning, implementation, instruction, and evaluation of educational activities for Providence Health Training focusing on American Heart Association courses. The EMS Instructor must consistently demonstrate professional performance, and reflect the key moral commitments, ethical principles, values and philosophy of the department as set forward in the mission statement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Community Health, Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, or a closely related field.

  • Upon hire: Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association

  • Upon hire: Provider Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association

  • Upon hire: Provider Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association

  • Upon hire: Washington State EMS Evaluator

  • Upon hire: EMT-P certification

  • Upon hire: Instructor Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (willing to obtain and maintain)

  • Upon hire: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor - American Heart Association (willing to obtain and maintain)

  • Upon hire: Willing to obtain/maintain PALS Instructor certification

  • 3 years Field experience.

  • 3 years Teaching experience.
