We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to ensure our commitment to the highest safety standards across our heavy commercial HVAC operations.
Position Summary
The Health and Safety Manager is a critical role responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s health and safety programs. This position ensures a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors while maintaining compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct regular inspections of facilities, job sites, and equipment to identify health and safety risks.
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures across all departments.
Prepare and conduct safety training programs, including emergency response, workplace safety, and hazard identification.
Manage new employee safety onboarding and training processes.
Monitor and enforce compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety manuals, inspection reports, and incident records.
Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are up-to-date and accessible.
Oversee fleet vehicle safety programs and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Conduct compliance audits to ensure alignment with local, state, and federal safety standards.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure job-specific safety plans are in place.
Maintain records of employee exposure to hazardous materials and pollutants, as required.
Provide leadership and guidance during safety-related incidents or emergencies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards, particularly in construction and HVAC environments.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to conduct training sessions and create engaging safety presentations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing safety programs in the construction, HVAC, or manufacturing industries.
Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
Must be able to navigate construction sites in various weather conditions, including bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds routinely.

This is a salaried exempt position $78K - $90K a year depending on experience.
