Knife River Prestress is a leading provider of high-quality precast concrete products that shape the construction landscape. As part of our team, you'll play a critical role in the planning and execution of major construction projects. The Estimator at Knife River Prestress will support the sales team by preparing detailed project bids for our full spectrum of precast products. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a strong foundation in estimating and gain a deep understanding of precast products and the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company. Key Responsibilities: Project Scoping Assistance: oDevelop comprehensive project scopes based on client requirements and design documents. oEnsure project scopes are clearly defined and communicated to the project team. Estimate Preparation: oPrepare detailed and accurate estimates for precast projects. oEnsure estimates cover all project costs and timelines. Industry Knowledge and Relationship Building: oMaintain and grow knowledge on the use of precast concrete. oBuild and maintain relationships with vendors and internal staff to optimize the sales process. CRM and Communication: oUtilize CRM to effectively communicate efforts to sales and production teams. oCollaborate with outside sales and project management teams to optimize project handoffs. Template and Toolkit Development: oSupport development of estimating templates, scope development toolkits, and product cost libraries. Post-Job Award Support: oUpdate production schedules oEngage in WIP and revenue forecast events. oInvestigate job variances to understand bid performance and improve future estimates. Compensation: $70,000-$110,000 Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: oBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. oExperience in quantity take-offs for concrete and/or building enclosure components is a plus. Skills and Competencies: oTeam player with a collaborative attitude, willing to help others and contribute to the team's success. oStrong verbal and written communication skills. oHighly organized and able to work well under demanding deadlines. oProficiency in software applications including Excel, Word, and BlueBeam/Adobe suites. oAbility to read and interpret construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings. oGeneral CAD knowledge is a plus. oDesire and willingness to learn and grow in the field of estimating.
