Job DescriptionAvista is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Distribution Operations department. The successful candidate will provide daily operational engineering support to Distribution Operations, regional line docks, relay shop and communications shop. Work includes real time, and week ahead, monitoring and analyzing performance of the distribution and transmission systems respectively. Writes new Standard Operating Procedures in response to the changing operating environment. Provides Outage Coordination and Switching Notice Review on the Distribution System. Provide technical guidance and direction to Distribution Operators and Operator assistants during normal and emergency operating conditions.

Requirements

  • Requires advanced specialized knowledge or technical background represented by a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited Engineering Program or its equivalent in technical training.

  • A minimum of one year of Electrical Engineering work is required.

  • Prior utility experience is preferred.

  • Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.

Entry Engineer

  • 0-1 years engineering work experience preferred.

Assistant Engineer

  • 1+ year of engineering work experience required.

Associate Engineer

  • 2+ years of engineering work experience required.

Engineer

  • 4+ years of engineering work experience required.

  • Professional Engineer’s is preferred

Senior Engineer

  • 8+ years of engineering work experience required.

  • Professional Engineer’s is required
