*The Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Education Specialist in the ECEAP Division. *

GENERAL DEFINITION

Under general direction of the ECEAP Manager, the Education Specialist coordinates, monitors and assesses ECEAP children's services, providing technical assistance, coaching, and training to childcare centers and, when appropriate, makes recommendations to enhance services or maintain compliance with the contract, ECEAP performance standards, as well as other federal/state/local laws, rules or regulations. 

The Education Specialist is responsible for observing early learning classrooms and teaching practices; providing necessary technical assistance to ECEAP teaching staff based on the ECEAP performance standards; developing and analyzing ECEAP program monitoring tools and reports; and providing ongoing professional development by form of training or facilitating.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor children's services, practices and procedures ensuring ECEAP performance standard compliance. Make recommendations to enhance services or maintain compliance with the contracts, ECEAP performance standards as well as other federal/state/local laws, rules or regulations in an effort to maintain the program\'s mission. *

Conduct observations of children's service delivery providing technical assistance, coaching, resources, and feedback to teaching staff and ECEAP Directors regarding quality-of-service delivery, compliance with performance standards and agency contracts. *

Collect and analyze data for use in contracts, program reports, grants, policy and procedures and interagency agreements, and training and development monthly reports. Maintain accurate and current data. *

Participate in program-wide planning and provide information for contract development. Provide information to help determine funding needs for resources, future projects and/or service changes affecting contracts. *

Develop and provide related component training for contract staff or coordinate with outside trainers to enhance staff capability and compliance with policies, procedures and best practices. *

Inform staff of training opportunities and classes to help subcontracted employees
