Join GDIT and be a part of the team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Enterprise Authoritative Data Environment (eADE) is searching for a Senior Release Manager to join their program.
As the eADE Release Manager, you will be responsible for managing the complete software delivery life cycle. You will work with the team to coordinate all aspects of the release management life cycle from planning to production deployment. Duties include:
Plan the release of project deliverables and release life cycle
Communicate the project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, and all relevant procedures between different teams
Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates
Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected
Track the progress and find issues, if any. Always work to improve the process of release.
Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release
Plan and Give weekly updates to the Program Manager and Team Managers on release activities
Make sure the allocation of Release Engineers to every release
Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully
Schedule Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings to discuss the release schedules with the team, and identify impediments
Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications lists, and dependencies
Make improvements in the methodologies used for configuration management and development of software that helps to find ways to use in configuration management.
Measures and monitors progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and meet expectations
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
8+ years of experience as a Release Manager
Requires ability to work in a collaborative environment to troubleshoot and resolve problems
Experience managing technical requirements
Project management experience
Experience working with DevOps and Agile methodologies
DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
PERSMOD experience
Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines
PMP, CompTIA +, ITIL Foundations Certifications
