MAINTENANCE DRIVER MECHANIC APPRENTICE - AT SUMMARY The Apprentice Mechanic will advance through five (5) stages in approximately six (6) month increments with assessments every 3 months to evaluate demonstration of an acceptable level of airframe technical knowledge and as well as adherence to company processes and procedures. Each level will provide a higher level of responsibility. To be eligible for licensing board examinations must completed in 18 months for Airframe or Powerplant program individually of OJT, or 30 months of A&P OJT learning simultaneously. Apprentice Mechanics will support Maintenance during field operations driving support vehicle. - Field assignments driving truck/trailer under DOT regulations to position equipment in support of maintenance and flight operations.
- Working in a supervised environment on aircraft maintenance, repairs, inspection and modification as be appropriate to their level of experience in mechanical, avionics and structures.
- Adhere to Aero-Flite safety regulations, maintenance policies, procedures and company protocols while performing their duties.
- Becoming a team player assisting fellow employees in the performance of their duties in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintaining an Aero-Flite O.J.T. log book as well as keeping a T.C. log book up to date.
- Preparing at the end of their apprenticeship program to acquire an A&P Mechanic license in a timely manner.
- Extended periods away from central hangar.
- Basic knowledge of Aero-Flite information technology system as related to their learner level.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Increasing knowledge of aircraft services and maintenance required to assist in maintaining the aircraft in a serviceable and airworthy condition.
- Sheet Metal - Knowledge of basic aircraft structures, materials and repairs.
- Avionics/Electrical - Knowledge of basic avionics/electrical theory, troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of safety measures required within the workplace.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes.
- Ability to take instruction; listen and follow oral communication.
- Skill in working with sheet metal, mechanical and power machinery and tools.
- Ability to work professionally within a team of individuals; promote and maintain a positive working environment.
- Knowledge of FARs as related to aircraft maintenance.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- English Language - Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Mathematics - General knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their application within aviation.
