Starting salary for this position is: $72,814 (Annually)

The salary range represents the earning potential for this position, through training, evaluations and years spent working in this position with CCS.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Foundation at Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS), the Director of Philanthropy is responsible for managing an integrated program for fundraising, donor cultivation and donor stewardship for the CCS Foundation. This position is a direct fundraising position; a successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to serve as a senior member of the CCS Foundation's disciplined, student-centered philanthropy program, with the expectation of meeting a personal annual fundraising goal while providing leadership and strategic direction to other fundraising team members. The Director of Philanthropy will be one of the primarily public-facing staff positions at CCS and as such will be expected to represent CCS' priorities and initiatives in a positive fashion.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and carry out comprehensive strategies to build, cultivate and steward relationships with donors, funding organizations, internal (faculty & staff) and external audiences to meet a personal annual fundraising goal of $500K+ (determined annually in collaboration with Executive Director). *

Set strategy and provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and (as determined by Executive Director) supervise/direct Foundation fundraising team members as they carry out the Foundation's activities to meet a shared team annual fundraising and campaign goals. * 

Manage the ongoing identification, relationship-building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects (both individuals and corporate/foundation partners) with a financial capacity to make major gift, planned/estate gift or grant commitments to the Foundation. *

Develop written proposals, reports, and collateral material as needed to support solicitations and stewardship activities with annual, major gifts, and planned giving/estate donors. *

Implement donor stewardship processes and activities that clarify, implement, monitor and honor donors' intent and instructions. *
