Provides leadership to dental department support staff to promote excellent customer service to patients and providers. Works closely with the Clinic Administrator and dental providers to assure the efficient operation of the dental clinic. Provides support and assistance to the dental providers during outpatient office procedures and may perform four-handed dental assisting. This position works closely with the Clinic Administrator and the Director of Dental Administrative Services to integrate departments and complete assigned tasks.Qualifications *Education: Associate of Arts Degree or 2 years equivalent experience in a business related field preferred. High School Diploma/GED required. *Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in medical/dental office with supervisory experience preferred. Three or more years of experience performing four-handed dental assisting preferred. Knowledge of medical records management with skill and knowledge of computers preferred. *Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Registration as a Dental Assistant preferred. All employees, CPR certification within 3 months of employment. *Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred (position not eligible for bilingual differential). Abilities include working with children; planning, coordinating and supervising the work of others; tactfully and courteously communicating with the public, patients and staff. Knowledge regarding infection control techniques, Basic Life Support and emergency access. Basic computer skill and knowledge required. Preferred: Reading and writing dental and some medical terminology and having knowledge in dental anatomy, materials and instruments; assisting the dentist or hygienist with patient care and provide oral health care instructions; exposing radiographs and mounting them at a diagnostically acceptable.
