EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience working with children preferred Kitchen experience required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Food Handler's permit card Able to maintain cleanliness & safety standards for kitchen and food services Possess good leadership, supervision, and communication skills Demonstrate safe handling of knives and hot kitchen equipment Knowledgeable in the areas of children/personnel safety assessment, planning, problem solving and crisis intervention Able pass a child safety background check ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assist in the preparation and service of all meals and snacks Clean and general care of the kitchen and all equipment Inform the Maintenance Director of any equipment maintenance or mechanical problems. Work in harmony with all food service staff Delegate responsibilities as needed including team organization, quality control, and timely preparation Maintain a safe and clean kitchen by ensuring that all staff and volunteers follow guidelines set forth by the Health Department and USDA including proper hygiene, temperature management (heating and cooling), & continuous attention to achieve the proper cleaning and sanitizing standards for all utensils and kitchen tools Assist with any other duties that the Camp Director assigns related to the kitchen and food service PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead Ability to operate telephone and computer Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Parental Leave: The benefit is 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events. Sick Leave: 12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months' service time.
