The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are currently seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our team as a member of our growing team in Spokane, WA. As a Construction Project Manager, your main areas of focus will be on Energy Services and Design-Build projects for large accounts primarily in the Eastern Washington and North Idaho region. Therefore, it’s expected that the individual joining us will be comfortable with some travel during construction, which could mean weekly travel to project sites. You’ll be a key member of a new and growing team, so you can expect more autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit.
We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated experience within commercial construction and is comfortable taking ownership of projects involving complex pieces. We expect this individual to possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, is results oriented, consultative, and collaborative. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:
Regularly communicating with customers and subcontractors that results in client satisfaction.
Assigning and overseeing staff as required for project design and implementation.
Creating and managing operating budgets.
Analyzing and delivering accurate and timely financial results.
Reviewing project schedules and budgets.
Acting as a team player to effectively work with internal and external consultants and contractors.
Assisting with scope development, and risk mitigation.
Developing internal labor budgets and managing to these budgets.
Leading design review, pre-con, and construction meetings.
Deliver projects in an efficient, cost-effective manner that results in client satisfaction.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management or equivalent work experience required.
Three to five (3-5) years of leadership over project teams with experience in engineering, construction, facilities services required.
Technical expertise in at least one area of construction that indicates the ability to learn and understand technical aspects of projects.
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project required.
Working knowledge of scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak required.
Experience with a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred.
Knowledge of construction management, commercial building process, and financial acumen is a plus.
Intermediate knowledge of construction financial programs and software preferred.
Ability to create budgets, revenue forecasting and manage to stated budgets required.

The pay range for this position is $76,320 - $122,760 per year; however, base pay offered my vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
