SCOPE OF POSITION: The Community Services Community Specialist and Warehouse Lead works within a team to provide services and assist in daily operations of the Community Services Office, including the Food pantry, Emergency Services, Life Skill Classes, and Seasonal Events. Incumbent follows the policies and procedures for the Community Services Department under the direction of the Community Services Program Manager. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree or higher with work experience preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Knowledge of/willing to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Client Management systems Knowledge of social services and local resources preferred Proficiency in typing, data entry, and organization Empathize with and advocate for a vulnerable population, maintain confidential personal information Willing to cross-train and fill-in as needed in other TSA programs Self-motivated and work with minimal supervision Possess a valid driver's license Pass Criminal and Driver Background Check ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Warehouse: Responsible for overseeing/accepting all deliveries to the food pantry Responsible for donation pickups Accept community donations and log them properly Ensure we follow the first in first out rule rotating food in the warehouse and the freezer/cooler Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and shopping area Responsible for tasking volunteers in accordance to warehouse needs Check temperature logs for the freezer and cooler every day Check the rodent traps each day and record on log Communicate with program manager about warehouse/food pantry operations, needs, and requests Food Pantry: Maintain ordering, accepting, and sourcing food, stocking shelves, and organizing areas Breakdown and restock product from pallets Restock shelves and walk-ins throughout the day Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the food pantry and the warehouse Client Management: Interview applicants to determine eligibility for programs and agency resources Responsible for monitoring and recording food distributions to clients Administration: Follow all TSA and Program specific policies and procedures Assist with seasonal/special events Attend meetings and events as required by the Community Services Program Manager and TSA Regularly gather and distribute resources for the Community Services Office and other programs Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis Grasp, push, pull, objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, carts, doors, and reach overhead Operate a telephone Operate a desktop computer Access and produce information from a computer Understand written and verbal information Lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis Sweep, clean, shovel snow, and perform other janitorial tasks as needed Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
