Start working the way you've imagined Volt is immediately hiring for a CAD Administrator in Spokane, Washington. As an CAD Administrator you will: Be responsible for managing and maintaining CAD systems, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of design processes, and supporting the engineering and production teams as well as assisting in the development of process improvements. This role requires a deep understanding of CAD software, strong organizational skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Job Duties: * In-depth knowledge and expertise in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or other industry-specific tools. * Administer and maintain CAD software and hardware, including installation, upgrades, and licensing. * Product Data Management (PDM): Experience with PDM systems, including managing data storage, version control, and access rights. * Develop and implement CAD standards, best practices, and workflows to optimize design efficiency using industry standards as a guide. * Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of CAD data across projects. * Continuously seek opportunities to improve CAD processes, workflows, and system integration. * Evaluate and recommend new CAD tools and technologies to enhance productivity. * Lead or participate in CAD-related projects, including system upgrades, process automation, and software evaluations. * Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to CAD software and hardware. * Work closely with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware problems. * Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements. The ideal candidate will have: * Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and support users at all levels of the organization, explaining technical concepts in an understandable way. * Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively. * Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. * Skills in scripting languages (e.g., VBA, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and improve CAD workflows. * Familiarity with engineering concepts, materials, and manufacturing processes related to the industry. * Working effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, IT, and production staff, sharing knowledge and assisting others when needed. * The ability to lead CAD-related projects or initiatives, guiding others toward achieving common goals. * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CAD Administrator, preferably in a manufacturing environment. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer-Aided Design, or a related field or equivalent experience in addition to the 3-5 years. Relevant certifications in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) are preferred.
