Position Summary: The primary function of a Boom Operator is to safely and efficiently operate a boom crane in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations to move board and other materials. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience. Duties & Responsibilities: Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation. Safely load building materials onto boom truck and unload products at commercial & residential job sites. Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you. Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing. Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for load/unload. Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude. Must report all accidents involving driver or company equipment. Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations. Basic Qualifications: Must have a valid driver's license. CDL and/or NCCCO preferred but not required. Must have a clear three-year Motor Vehicle Report. Must have knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations. High School diploma or GED. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position while a commercial motor vehicle and/or boom. Must be able to move materials weighing up to 80 lbs. Will constantly move from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicle onto job site. Will constantly operate commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle. Will constantly position self to unload materials from flatbed or boom. Must be able to judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom.
