Northwest Farm Credit Services Accounting Analyst in Spokane, Washington

We serve customers in 59 locations throughout the West. We are in search of an Accounting Analyst II or Accounting Analyst III to join our Controller department in Spokane, Washington. This full-time position reports to the Director, Financial Reporting and is responsible for preparing and ensuring high quality accounting and reporting of the organization's financial information including providing technical expertise on complex accounting matter. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and one-time home office stipend after initial training period. Compensation Information The base salary range for this position is: Level II: $63,000 - $95,000; bonus at target is 10% of salary Level III: $99,000 - $109,000; bonus at target is 10% or 12% of salary depending on experience Job Requirements Ensure accuracy of financial and regulatory reporting by monitoring general ledger activity. Process and analyze general ledger activities, prepare journal entries and reconciliations. Develop, enhance, or manage various internal controls reporting requirements. Develop and maintain analytics to ensure accounting and reporting is accurate and timely. Provide technical guidance and research on moderate to complex accounting matters related to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory guidance; work with others within the organization, as well as external auditors, to ensure proper accounting and reporting methods are followed. Provide input on existing system functionality and design. Serve as a representative on work groups as assigned; this may include serving as the lead in design, testing, and implementation of new processes or systems, software upgrades and automation project for the team. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports in addition to other regulatory reporting needs. Responsible for identifying problems, implementing solutions and process improvements. Mentor other team members and assist team manager with identification of training needs, communication of conceptual accounting concepts, as well as peer review or workshops, journal entries, technical accounting memos, and reconciliations. Communicate on behalf of the team with individuals throughout the organization, including executive management. Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Generally, requires three to five years' related experience in a public or corporate accounting environment Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation Experience working with general ledger systems, GAAP research and writing technical accounting memos Strong organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written<
