Job Description:

The Sterility Test Specialist will perform all the duties in the Sterility Testing area as a critical aspect in the manufacture of injectable products.

  • Prepare samples, perform sterility tests, and record results.
  • Perform Medial Fill inspections and report progress
  • Initiate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) changes and Validation draft reviews
  • Assist with investigations, as required
  • Receive, log and track samples to ensure timely testing. Enter data into Sterility Test database.
  • Prepare training documentation and paperwork data review
  • Provide leadership and training for Sterility Test Technicians
  • Provides analysis, diagnosis or production tasks which noticeably impact end results
  • Safety Test Technicians are relatively responsible for scheduling their time. They must budget their time to test products, clean animal rooms and perform correct animal husbandry.
  • The incumbent must be accurate and detail oriented in all functions. Testing and paperwork must be reviewed and coordinated for correct on-time release. Must continually strive to assure that testing, test review, and all phases of documentation are accurate to prevent safety false positive, release of miss-tested or untested products or delays in manufacturing.

     

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • 7 years aseptic experience required.
  • Manual Dexterity required.
  • Experience must include animal husbandry, clean room gowning practices, and cGMP based documentation skills. Must be able to reliably follow written SOP's and have good computer skills. Documentation must be complete and accurate to avoid production release delays.
  • Experience managing conflict and influencing outcomes
  • Position is critical to meet customer service commitment for timely release of sterile products. Accurate testing and documentation have an immediate and direct impact on internal and external customers.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted required: Transfer media trays, WIP totes, etc.
  • [20/30] Corrected Near-Point Vision required.
  • Experience working in Aseptic Areas required.
  • Experience working with data base to record safety test results required. This includes entering samples, and weighing animals for on and off test. Understanding the general safety test.
  • Repetitive/patterned situations: choices of learned solutions required.

  • This position pays $29.05 to $39.30 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises.
