We continue to grow in our industry by ensuring all employees possess the following core competencies: customer focused, team player, engaged, ethical, strong communication skills, and works safely.Job PurposeThe primary focus of this Sustaining Engineering role will be to provide direction, engineering guidance and technical support for the upfront and ongoing product design, structure and documentation of EnerSys products. To work closely with the Manufacturing and Design Engineering teams to transition products from design to manufacturing. Resolve assembly and supply chain issues to ensure consistent and cost-effective manufacture of products. Assist with product transfer activities. Act as product configuration subject matter expert to drive process and product design improvements. Provide results driven technical support in all engineering and manufacturing functions. As a member of the EnerSys team, you will conduct business according to the details of your job description and the employee manual, with a commitment to continuous improvement and respect for people.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance to engineering regarding the product structure of new and existing products to ensure proper routing and flow through production.Prepare and review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Temporary Deviation Notices (TDNs) and Bills of Material (BOMs).Develop and maintain product Bill of Materials and BoM structure.Prepare and maintain product documentation such as solid models, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings and other specifications.Provide product design support for problem resolution and continuous improvement activities.Provide direct support for New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfers.Coordinate and communicate with other department representatives to ensure product designs and documentation are aligned to achieve the schedule, fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, ensure on-time delivery, and meet or exceed customer requirements and business goals.Develop, update, and implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) procedures, and ensure they are met. Ensure established procedures and processes are followed. Proactively lead the manufacturing and engineering teams to continuously improve processes and procedures.Champion continuous improvement efforts and provide input on processes, procedures, materials, product structure and services to support innovation and continuous improvement.Participate in product development DFx reviews to provide manufacturing input on designs for manufacturability and assembly. Facilitate the transition of products from product development to production.Champion continuous improvement efforts with the team and promote healthy, respectful communications.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Qualifications1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.2. Minimum 1-2 years of direct engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.3. In depth knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).4. Proficiency in Solid Modeling and 2D CAD systems. ( SolidWorks, AutoCAD preferred )5.
