City of Spokane Valley Planning Manager in Spokane Valley, Washington
The Planning Manager performs routine and complex administrative, technical and supervisory work for the City in long-range and current land use planning and zoning. This position supervises planning operations, oversees growth management, prepares data for studies, and reports recommendations. They provide development and planning advice and make presentations to supervisors, officials, boards, commissions and the general public.
Responsibilities include supervising and evaluating land use proposals for conformity to established plans and ordinances, determining work procedures and administering a variety of programs and codes including zoning, subdivision, SEPA, etc. Professional skills and a strong desire to provide superior service to both internal and external customers is critical. The Planning Manager provides on-going evaluation of governing land use regulations and policies and recommends modifications as appropriate. They assure that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget and prepares annual budget requests.
