Amergis Audiologist Needed in Spanaway, WA in Spanaway, Washington
Audiologists are specialists who diagnose, treat andproviding ongoing management to patients who suffer from hearing, balance orother related disorders of the ear and/or hearing. Audiologists provide personalized services tominimize the negative impact of these disorders, as well as help with educationand prevention leading to improved outcomes and patient quality of life. The Audiologist will work in a variety ofsettings and can specialize in pediatrics, geriatrics, balance, cochlearimplants, hearing aids, tinnitus, and auditory processing among other variousclinical specialties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers and interprets audiological tests, develops atreatment plan, and establishes goals for each patient. Monitors progress ofrecommendations and treatment plans and reassesses as appropriate
Provides tinnitus counseling and rehabilitation whenindicated
Advises on the selection, fitting and evaluation of hearingaids
Responsible for repairing and maintaining hearing aids
Operates and calibrates audiometric equipment
Provides rehabilitative audiological services includingcounseling them and advising them on wearing hearing aids and hearing tactics
Calibrates equipment, prepares related reports, andmaintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies
Communicates with patient and family and provides counselingwhen appropriate
Documents timely per facility protocol
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Current state license as an Audiologist preferred.
Graduate or four-year degree program accredited by theAmerican Speech and Hearing Association, and holds or is eligible for acertificate of clinical competence granted by the American Speech and HearingAssociation preferred.
Minimum of one year in audiology preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
