Reimagine What's Possible Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Distribution Site Supervisor for its Puyallup, WA facility. The Puyallup facility produces liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. The facility supplies the merchant market within the Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. via our liquid and bulk gas fleet. The ideal should have strong background in terminal operations, DOT regulations, and provide strong leadership in safety. A detailed understanding of vehicle and personnel safety is required to assist the Site Manager in providing leadership to a staff of 12 company drivers and 2 vehicle mechanics. Experience with SAP software systems highly desirable but not mandatory for consideration. Some operational experience with cryogenic plant operations with the desire to learn the operational procedure Key Job Responsibilities: Provide customer site safety inspections to assure safe access of new and existing accounts and equipment requirements meet delivery expectations. Coach, mentor, and provide driver training and leadership. Engage local Distribution employees through regular formal and informal observations such as Delivery and Yard Observations, customer site visits, driver ride-alongs, plant walk arounds, etc. Update and maintain current customer directions and driver delivery instructions in scheduling system. Supervise vehicle maintenance team and manage equipment resource availability to insure preventative maintenance in accordance with company requirements. Utilize optimization tools to understand and drive performance in safety and distribution key performance indicators. Enter non-conformance reports in conjunction with operating events, conduct root cause investigation, insure action items documented and tracked through completion. Responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of terminal operations in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible to optimize driver core staffing, bid model and equipment requirements with Resource Analyst Review DOT roadside inspections, complete repair of defects in a timely manner and develop action plan to eliminate discrepancies. Monthly Fuel Reporting/ Monitoring/Maintenance of Fuel Island, and tank inspections reports. Oversight of local third-party contract carrier operations and qualification
