The NPD Engineering Manager leads a team that aligns internal fabrication capabilities with customer requirements and produces process documents that result in successful prototype and pre-production parts. This position is a hands-on role with equal time spent managing the work of others and delivering against day to day and longer-term commitments as an individual contributor. A competent understanding of layered manufacturing, flexible circuit, semiconductor or MEMS design and manufacturing processes is valued to perform pre-production design consultation and other billable services. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Provides technical support to sales; Pre-Production consultation, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis, capability analysis, cost analysis and project management support through the product lifecycle. * Ensures accurate an rapid creation of manufacturing process documents; BOMs, routings, work instructions, Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) files, machine programs, tools and inspection plans for manufacturing. * Performs NPD production preparation planning and risk assessment to improve success factors such as yield, scrap, leadtime and standard time. * Partners with other subject matter experts (SMEs) in production, quality and process engineering teams to ensure process controls, capability and capacity are established. * Provides Technical Support for production process issues; documentation, product quality evaluations, remedial actions, and collaborations to ensure all stakeholders can participate in corrective action. * Drives continuous improvement plans for workflows that simplify, standardize, and improve detection of errors in manufacturing documents and CAM files. * Ensure production flow stoppage is managed with respect to first time builds and expedited orders. * Supports evaluations of product involved in customer complaint and/or returned goods. * Supports long range strategy and owns short term tactical execution for NPD engineering and CAM teams to meet company safety, cost and quality targets. * Ensures professional development of existing staff and high potentials from adjacent departments to build a talent pipeline with deep knowledge of microfabrication processes. SALARY INFORMATION In compliance with WA state wage transparency law, the annual salary for this position will be $120,000 - $150,000.
