Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Snohomish, Washington

Description Robert Half is looking for an efficient Full Charge Bookkeeper to take on an exciting job opportunity in the Construction/Contractor industry. In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Based in Snohomish, Washington, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a short-term contract / temporary opportunity.

Major responsibilities

  • Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

  • Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections

  • Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets

  • Ensuring correct and punctual monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records

  • Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

  • Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll Requirements - Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

  • A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports

  • Prior payroll experience preferred

  • Solid understanding of Quickbooks Online

  • Foundational knowledge in payroll

  • Knowledge of financial reporting

  • Proficiency in bank reconciliations

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience

  • Highly organized and self-motivated

    • Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience a plus
  • High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
