The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for managing the Operational components for a Large Federal EMR program utilizing Cerner.

Job Description

  • Work closely with the Cerner Hosting team to efficiently ramp up the hosting environment as we bring on new users

  • Set operational thresholds and KPI’s to meet all defined government SLA’s

  • Monitor all aspects of operations and provide executive dashboards and management reports

  • Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area.

  • Supervises assigned staff, including subordinate supervisors, and performs personnel actions including hiring and performance evaluation.

  • Directs program activities to meet client and organization work objectives and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.

  • Coordinates and monitors sub-contractor activities and administers subcontractor deliverables.

  • Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews to senior management as requested.

  • Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Information Systems, or Healthcare related field, Master’s Degree in healthcare preferred

  • Experience with electronic health record systems (Cerner)

  • 5+ years of experience supporting large Federal Healthcare systems focused on managing operations of a Hosting environment (Cloud and On-Prem)

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare environment

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in managing application systems support teams in a distributed computing environment with an emphasis on project management
