What does this role look like?

The Missile Body Operations (MBO) Group is seeking a Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Building Group Lead (BGL) at the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC) in Silverdale, Washington.

The BGL will lead Fleet Ballistic Missile production operations at Inert Components Processing Building (ICPB) and Missile Assembly Building 2 (MAB-2). This role will include leading a group of represented, non-exempt technicians, supporting Training Center of Excellence (TCOE) operations at MAB-2, and operating as the building officer and liaison between LM, the customer, and base contractor for maintenance and repairs at MAB-2. This position also requires the building officer to interface with contractor and customer counterparts to manage the non-LM areas in MAB-2. This position provides safety and security oversight operations conducted at the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC).


In this role will offer you the following daily responsibilities:

• Direct supervision of the hourly workforce.

• Submitting work orders for repair and improvements/modifications at MAB-2.

• Interfacing directly with the customer and partner-contractors on a daily basis.

• Workload analysis, prioritization, planning, assignment and execution; coordination of operational requirements with various organizations.

• Ensuring production quality standards are met or exceeded.

• Preparation of production reports.

• Provision of technical on-the-job training.

• Development and maintenance of SharePoint forms and documents.

• Assist as needed with metrics management.


Please note that this position does NOT support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Silverdale, WA, and will be expected to work in the office.

Basic Qualifications:

To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education,

• 2+ years of professional experience in Planning and or Manufacturing,

• You will need to be a US Citizen (no dual citizens), andbe able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

No clearance is required to apply but an Interim clearance is needed prior to start.

• Proven Leadership abilities in dynamic work environments.

• Working knowledge of FBM tools/systems including: IMAP, AMOS and SAP.

• Basic understanding of data analytics and continuous improvement mindset

• Building group lead qualification

• Understanding of building officer responsibilities

• Building officer qualification

• Experience working with ordnance grounding procedures and safe ordnance handling

• Demonstrated ability to facilitate audits and mitigate/address findings

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $58,200 - $111,600. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
