The Water Quality Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Permit Administrator (Environmental Specialist 1) *position. This position is located in our *Northwest Region Office (NWRO) *in *Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

*Please Note: *The salary posted above includes the additional 5% premium pay that this position will receive due to its location in Shoreline, WA{target="_blank" rel="noopener"} in King County.    

Do you enjoy bringing order to messy documents and want to contribute to a cleaner environment? In this role, you will gain insights into the different types of water quality permits and enforcement actions as you proofread and format documents prepared by engineers, geologists, planners, and environmental specialists. You will acquire and apply knowledge of water quality laws and regulations, technical terminology, internal procedures, as well as agency policies and standards. You will also support the team's use of SharePoint for information access, records management, and process controls. You will grow professionally as you learn about various specialties within the Water Quality Program, develop skills in permitting databases, and emerge as a leader in digital accessibility.

Program Mission: *The mission of the Water Quality Program is to ensure that all aquatic life and communities in the watershed experience cool, clean water to refresh and sustain us in a changing climate.   *Tele-work options for this position: *This position will be eligible for up to a 60% tele-work schedule with the expectation of working in the office at least two days per week. Additional in-person workdays may be required during the probationary period and for time-sensitive tasks that arise. *Applicants with questions about tele-work and flexible or compressed schedules are encouraged to reach out to the contact person listed below in "other information." Schedules are dependent upon position needs and are subject to change.
