Department of Ecology Nonpoint Source Water Quality Specialist (Environmental Specialist 4) (2 positions) in Shoreline, Washington

The Water Quality Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill two *Nonpoint Source Water Quality Specialist (Environmental Specialist 4) positions. The positions can be located in either our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) *in Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"} or our *Bellingham Field Office (BFO) in Bellingham, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

* Please Note:* If the final location of the position is determined to be in our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in Shoreline, WA{rel="noopener" target="_blank"}. there will be an additional 5% pay increase due to its location in King County. In this instance the salary range will be $5,776 - $7,770 per month.   

Are you passionate about community-driven environmental solutions? Are you interested in solving complex environmental problems? If so, we're looking for two senior Nonpoint Source Water Quality Specialists to apply these interests in tackling water quality challenges in western Washington. You will direct your expertise toward understanding water quality conditions, agricultural best management practices, and landowner assistance resources to solve water pollution issues from nonpoint sources.

 

In this role, you will work closely with local farmers, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations to champion sustainable practices to protect and restore our unique landscapes for the benefit of fish and shellfish. This will involve responding to complaints, referrals, and field assessment findings in priority watersheds. Building relationships, coordinating with various implementation partners, and engaging in community outreach are other key components of this role.
