Description

 

Manages the entire jury system for Superior, District and Municipal Courts. This position is highly technical, and requires substantial independent judgment and experience in jury management, the field of law and court proceedings. Exercises independent judgment and decision making within authorized limits. Performs and takes responsibility for assigned duties and procedures. Work is varied so must be adaptable to assist in other areas as needed and is required to know substantially all of the court and office procedures, rules and authority; handle all incoming work; must be able to maintain confidentiality; and transact the general business of the Court and office, subject to general supervision. In addition to jury management, this position is responsible for annual invoicing of the ODYSSEY PORTAL. As Archive Specialist, this position maintains records and organizes documents for archiving. As a Jury Manager/Archive Specialist, this position manages delinquent fines and fees on criminal and juvenile offender cases.

 

Examples of Duties

Manages jury system and process: performs all activities relevant to jury selection, exemptions, jury attendance & payroll. Performs Jury management on the special jury program Perform collection duties for criminal and juvenile offender cases. Processes ODYSSEY Portal annual invoices to registered Portal users.  Prepares files for archiving  Regular, reliable and punctual attendance Performs other related duties as assigned Knowledge of: * Jury management system General office practices & procedures Court-related documents, terminology Modern office methods & applications.      *Ability to: Establish & maintain effective working relationships as required by work assignments Able to maintain confidentiality and be trustworthy Understand & carry out oral and written instructions Apply available guidelines & training manuals to varied operational requirements Meet stringent deadlines. Attends court proceedings: juvenile court, criminal & civil trials and hearings as needed Assist in administration of other motion calendars Enters data on computer Receives and properly files legal documents Records minutes & exhibits from court proceedings Processes passports, warrants or arrest, abstracts of judgments, garnishments & writs, etc. Answers phone inquiries and waits on customers at the counter Knowledge of accounting records & transactions with the ability to balance till and prepare deposits Enters accounting data on computer Handles all duties deemed necessary by supervisor Collects & disburses monetary transactions Works in direct cooperation with all county/city law enforcement, title companies and other county offices
