Robert Half Financial Specialist in Shelton, Washington

Description We are in search of a Financial Specialist to join our team in the Natural Resources industry, located in Shelton, Washington. This role primarily focuses on managing program budgets, maintaining financial records, and ensuring grant compliance. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity and requires a physical presence at the workplace.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain customer credit records.

• Oversee day-to-day billing and creation of purchase orders.

• Manage salaries and determine which budgets they are paid out of.

• Handle accounts payable for all utility offices.

• Ensure grant compliance by meeting funding requirements for various funding sources.

• Conduct procurement activities and understand the guidelines attached to funds.

• Perform data tracking and use Microsoft Excel extensively.

• Review and analyze revenue/expenses for anomalies and trends.

• Approve and manage purchases and payments to ensure they are on time and within budget.

• Maintain up-to-date and well-organized financial files.

• Liaise between Finance and other staff to assure timely payment of invoices.

• Maintain vendor relationships and provide budget/expenditure updates in monthly meetings.

• Perform other duties as may be assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Billing, Data Entry, and Invoice Processing

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Experience with Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for financial management

• Familiarity with Purchase Orders processes and procedures

• Ability to manage Department Budget and other related budgets

• Experience in budget management, including managing, operating, and operational budgets

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure

• Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation.
