Produce Clerk, Sunny Farms Country Store -- Sequim, WA

In search of an enthusiastic, customer-focused and friendly clerk to join our team to help ensure our produce area is well-stocked, clean and running efficiently. If you do not already know your Cosmic Crisp from Ambrosia and EverCrisp apples, or how to trim broccoli or even spell rutabaga your confidence will grow with time -- plus the products are labeled. If you already know these things and have relevant experience, we can use you too.

Some may say this is an opportunity to unleash your artistic abilities, presenting a collage of fresh, crisp, bright fruits but honestly, this is a fast-paced, physically demanding position -- stocking watermelons and trimming corn is hard work. And then we get into pumpkin season...

Responsibilities:

  • Trim, wash, sort, build and maintain fresh fruit and vegetable displays.
  • Rotate product on displays to ensure quality, freshness, and eye appeal.
  • Help ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements throughout your daily work.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Escort customers to the appropriate aisle or shelve to assist with purchasing decisions.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Help ensure the store is clean, safe, and in order.
  • Help ensure that products are accurately labeled.
  • Occasionally help cashiers with bagging.
  • Help breakdown incoming freight.

Requirements:

  • Previous grocery/retail experience helpful.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Ability to interact with customers of diverse backgrounds in a positive manner.
  • Team player -- work well with others.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights & weekends.
