Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Junior Buyer to join our growing team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is located in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.
The Junior Buyer is accountable for aiding the Buyer/Planners in all aspects of bids, procuring materials, creating purchase orders, managing supplier information, and delivering exceptional customer service. Their main objective is to help ensure that suppliers meet or surpass Janicki Industries' quality and delivery objectives. The following essential job functions are performed as a Junior Buyer:
- Assist in the procurement of goods and services by preparing purchase order, maintaining data in the ERP system.
- Assist in comparing prices, specifications, and delivery dates to help determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of products to meet inventory needs.
- Coordinate with the accounts payable department to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing for purchased items.
- Maintain and update supplier information, including contact details, product specifications, and performance evaluations.
- Participate in inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Ensures processes comply with AS9100 quality requirements.
- Interfaces with internal customers on supplier issues.
- Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
- Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required. Pursuing college level or trade school education in relative field preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Understanding of ERP/PDM environments.
- Experience in an ISO or AS quality management system a plus.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
- Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance if needed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Salary range for this role is between *$25- $35 *per hour, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
