General Job Description Dogwood Industries is seeking a full time IT Database Administrator to join our growing team. The company is an industrial manufacturer with facilities in Sedro-Woolley, Everett, and Bothell WA. A successful candidate will be experienced in serving the technological needs of a business and be ready to provide IT support and leadership as the company grows.

   

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Database for SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SolidWorks PDM, and ERP software.
  • Support and maintain databases on servers that run Microsoft SQL Server Standard.
  • Monitor key metrics, optimize SQL queries, and adjust indexes to handle performance issues.
  • Manage user access and permissions within the SQL and PDM software, ensuring that sensitive data is protected.
  • Perform database tuning and regularly review and optimize configurations, monitor software usage and performance, identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Coordinate software updates and upgrades, testing new features and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation on Database software configurations, processes, and standards and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to Database software usage and data security.
  • Monitor, Manage, and Assist with the implementation and maintenance of backup and disaster recovery procedures for company data and systems.
  • Participate in regular IT security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities in systems and processes.
  • Provide on-call support for emergencies outside of regular business hours.
  • Procure, install, configure, and maintain workstation and server hardware, software, and networking devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to computer systems, networks, and peripherals.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end users.
  • Maintain inventory of computer hardware and software.
  • Management of cell phones and VoIP phone system.
  • Manage connectivity and security of networked large industrial equipment (python).
  • Completing large IT projects and Occasionally Interface with MSP.
  • Travel to Bothell and Everett offices for services as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of workstations, servers, and networking systems
  • Strong Knowledge of SQL, CAD software, and Database structures
  • Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving basic computer issues
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and writing skills in English
  • US Citizen 

      Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Technical Certifications are a plus: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CompTIA Data+, DataSys+

Knowledge of NIST 800-171 requirements
