Amazon WW Strategic Planning Manager in Seattle, Washington
Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading cloud provider, offering virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, analytics, and other web computing services to customers all over the world. AWS operates a globally distributed environment at massive levels of scale, offering over 200 fully featured services to millions of active customers around the world—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—to power their infrastructure. The Global Sales Strategy and Operations (GSSO) supports the AWS Global Sales (AGS) organization through strategy, strategic initiative design and implementation, program management, and business insights and reporting. GSSO is routinely trusted to create and seamlessly deliver transformative insights, programs, and mechanisms at scale for AGS’ most critical initiatives.
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Planning Manager to join our Worldwide Strategic Planning (WSP) team. The WSP team works directly with initiative owners, cross-functional stakeholders, and subject matter experts to explore implementation options, evaluate risks, and operationalize both annual and multi-year initiatives, with a focus on scalability and efficiency. In this role you work closely with a diverse set of strategy, sales and operations stakeholders to drive informed decisions and operationalization. This includes scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process changes.
The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in leading business transformation programs in complex, overlay environments and building scalable mechanisms to support sales operations and planning. They will have high business acumen and strong analytical skills coupled with strong collaboration and influencing skills. This is a hands-on position - the candidate must be willing to “roll up the sleeves”, be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving, and have a passion for identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, anticipate business needs, make tradeoffs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, are able to manage through ambiguity and complexity, and constantly seek ways to invent and simplify across the business.
Key job responsibilities

Develop and apply data analysis frameworks, working closely with Data Science teams to produce actionable insights that inform strategy recommendations.

Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for strategic initiatives, providing clear reports on progress and results.
Conduct post-initiative evaluations to capture lessons learned, iterate on processes, and refine program management practices to maximize impact.
Analyze existing process gaps, and develop solutions to close them. Drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems.
Support teams in responding to, investigating, managing and resolving complex and high-impact problems and escalations.
