UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Wound/Ostomy Program . This position is open to current Montlake nurses only.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 80% or 90%

  • Variable days, Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts possible DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The UWMC Wound/Ostomy Program RNs provide care for ostomy patients both inpatient and outpatient, and hospitalized patients presenting with a broad spectrum of wounds including surgical, neuropathic, venous, arterial, pressure injuries, and other wounds reflecting a variety of underlying disease processes. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide pre-operative assessment and education of ostomy patients in the outpatient setting as well as postoperative ostomy management in the inpatient and outpatient setting, enhancing the patient and nurse experience across the care continuum.

  • Care is provided in close partnership with Surgical Physician colleagues. The role is highly collaborative yet allows for nurse autonomy.

  • RNs provide expert nursing as they systematically assess the need for and the delivery of nursing services that meet patient care requirements, whether delivered directly or by the other nursing staff; coordinate patient care; and integrate patient and family education into the delivery of care. REQUIREMENTS

  • Current UW Medical Center-Montlake RN

  • At least 2 years of current acute care med-surg nursing experience

  • Current Wound and Ostomy experience

  • Current WA RN license
