Northwest Center Warehouse Sorter Lead in Seattle, Washington

Northwest Center is looking for a Warehouse Sorter Lead!

 The Warehouse Sorter Lead works to create a welcoming and positive environment by supporting Sorters at assigned workstations. Sorters utilize scanners to inspect and sort books into distinct categories and place them into assigned bins. This role provides support by working with leadership to organize staff and supplies as well as track and document the progress of each load of materials, equipment, and cleaning supplies. This role is also responsible for supporting the training and mentoring of Sorters and performing the tasks of sorters as necessary.

Location: SeaTac, WA

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 11 am - 7:30 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize tasks and manage time to meet daily sorting targets and deadlines.
  • Properly operate and maintain the scanning equipment and other tools required for the sorting process.
  • Lead sorters by providing direction to help increase productivity, flow, and organization all while ensuring safety standards are being upheld.
  • Work to help resupply stations as needed throughout the day and troubleshoot production and equipment issues as necessary.
  • Maintain meticulous records of supplies used and products organized during each scanned load.
  • Develop and enhance leadership skills within a dynamic production line business
  • Support training of new staff.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in categorization.
  • Work within a non-climate-controlled warehouse
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, carry, and organize up to 30lbs consistently
  • Ability to safely operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
  • Ability to kneel, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, and twist at the knees/waist/neck.
