Job Information
Amazon Vendor Manager, Amazon Go in Seattle, Washington
Description
Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no lines and no checkout—you just grab and go! Customers simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take what they want from our selection of fresh, delicious meals and grocery essentials, and go!
Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we’ll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt. Check it out at amazon.com/go.
Our technology creates complex supply chain opportunities that require outside the box thinking solutions that can scale nationally. We are looking for a Vendor Manager to oversee vendor relationships with our key national distributors to ensure our vendors are set-up for success to deliver for our customers. You will work with third party providers, internal category and in stock partners and learn and develop strategies with partners from across Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods.
Key job responsibilities
Maintaining positive working relationships with our vendors is key to our success. You will work to ensure our national distributor partners are set-up for success to do business with Amazon.
You will evaluate performance of our vendors – driving accountability with our partners and improving processes so we can deliver on our KPIs (in stock rates, in-store shrink, order fill rate, on-time delivery and logistics cost to serve).
You will provide support to our vendors – helping them resolve issues that impede their ability to service our stores effectively.
You will help set the strategy with our vendors – working cross functionally within the Go org. to communicate vendor capabilities and how we can further leverage vendor’s industry knowledge and core competencies.
In addition, this role will stretch you to assist the vendor management team in developing our overall supply chain topology, ensuring we have the right vendors in place to scale and are sourcing the right products from the right places.
A day in the life
A day will include meeting with our vendors to review vendor performance, analyzing existing vendor management processes to identify optimization/automation opportunities, and collaborate cross functionally to ensure our vendors are set-up to deliver on our category team’s strategy. You will report out to leadership on strategy, execution and action items.
If you are someone who has shown success in building relationships with third party vendors, analyzing complex data, building models, streamlining, identifying process improvement opportunities and pioneering new ways to do things, we’d like to talk to you.
About the team
