This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. Our MK2 Crew Lander mission will demonstrate the lander's core capabilities - including the privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and integrated power and propulsion architecture - as a precursor to certifying the vehicle for use by NASA as part of the Artemis lunar exploration program. The team building this vehicle is rethinking how space systems are designed, with a high-performance architecture, efficient reusability, and rapid design iteration. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will work to design, analyze, build, test, integrate, deliver, and operate fluids and propulsion subsystems on Lunar landers. Special Mentions Relocation provided Occasional travel up to 15% of the time 1st Shift: 8am - 5pm Interviews will include a technical assessment Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for leading a technical team to deliver high-performance valves for Lunar vehicles Accountable for definition, specification, and development of hardware to meet mission objectives and satisfy requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and risk Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team Manage your direct reports' professional development (e.g., coaching, routine one-on-one development conversations, performance reviews, and promotion management) Develop robust plans meeting deliverables and manage to the key operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk Develop product roadmaps, including development and incorporation of technologies to meet future mission requirements Work with internal and external customers to understand and shape stakeholder current and future mission needs Perform technical work and provide technical leadership of the highest caliber Monitor technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule, deliverables and risks as well as review recommendations for change with program management Communicate progress to leadership team via; program management reviews weekly/monthly, finance reviews, long term forecasting business plan, and project deep dives Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the most efficient and effective product is designed, manufactured, procured, tested, qualified, and delivered Qualifications: B.S. in Engineering or related technical subject area Demonstrated ability to provide cost and schedule leadership of a team 8+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for leading and coaching employees 15+ years directly relate
