We are looking for a strong design leader to join our growing design team and play a significant role in this exciting evolution of Prime. This person will partner with our Sr. Design and Research managers, Product, Marketing, Branding, and Tech partners, to help drive compelling customer experiences for Amazon.The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for customers, strong communication skills, and the ability to focus on big experience initiatives at the same time as crucial details. They are comfortable presenting and articulating design reasoning with data to directors and stakeholder teams, and working through implementation details with tech teams.Note on Location: We are open to this role being located in Arlington, VA or Seattle, WA.Key job responsibilitiesManage and creatively lead a team of UX designers to define and deliver end to end Prime member experiencesDefine, develop and socialize a clear vision for design innovation and big thinking while not sacrificing speed of deliveryWork cross-functionally to drive elegant design solutions from early concept through final implementation and iterationUse data and customer insights to confidently defend design solutions with senior leadersLead brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big thinking while raising the bar on the detailsBring deep expertise in UX design (frameworks, interaction models, prototypes, research), helping team members weigh the impact and tradeoffs of decisions, and seeking input where needed to drive alignment.Use systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions from your team that scaleHire, coach, and support a multi-disciplinary design team; act as a role model, mentor, and motivator in creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.Develop processes and identify opportunities for improvements that drive quality and efficiency to help the team accomplish more than what they could otherwise.About the teamPrime UX is a team made up of three UX capabilities: research, design, and writing. We are the bar raisers and champions of the end-to-end Prime CX on-and-off-site. As stewards of the Prime CX, we own, develop, and implement generative customer research and design thinking mechanisms that scale our UX thinking across Amazon teams and organizations.6+ years of design experienceExperience managing teamsAn available online portfolioBachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), a related field, or 4+ years of additional professional experienceExperience with a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, Axure, Framer, Invision, etc.8+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, product designer, or a similar roleExperience designing large scale, high profile customer experiencesFamiliarity with A/B, multivariate and other quantitative testing techniquesDemonstrated ability in qualitative User Research techniques (e.g. usability studies, interviews, etc.)Successful track record working with business stakeholders as a design leaderExperience creating production specs/assets, working directly with developers for implementation of designsStrong written and verbal comm
