Blue Origin LLC Trajectory Analyst II - New Glenn in Seattle, Washington

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will optimize Earth-to-orbit trajectories for a range of launch vehicle configurations, including modeling the corresponding kinematic and dynamic characteristics, develop integrated design solutions and assess conceptual designs, and support trade studies on system design and architectures. Other responsibilities include documentation and maintenance of analysis inputs, models, and reports. Qualifications: Minimum of B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent technical field 2+ years of experience in trajectory optimization, GNC, mission design, or advanced degree Strong orbital mechanics fundamentals Strong flight mechanics/dynamics fundamentals Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in launch, spacecraft and reentry systems Experience using trajectory analysis tools such as POST, OTIS, STK Astrogator, or Copernicus. Strong technical troubleshooting skills Experience with aerodynamic modelling, stability, or control design Experience using MATLAB/Simulink Experience with flight safety analysis and post-flight data analysis Active TS/SCI clearance Compensation range for on-site CO applicants is $100,815-$141,141 Compensation range for on-site WA applicants is $109,980-$153,972 Compensation range for on-site CA applicants is $109,980-$153,972 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
