Are you interested in working with AWS cloud architects and industry experts to provide AWS cloud solutions to our customers via our Consulting Partners?

AWS Consulting Partners include System Integrators, Business and Management Consulting Firms, Resellers, Distribution Partners, and Partners as customers. Would you like to develop and operate programs to optimize our customers’ business results by identifying and extending best practices across our Consulting Partner network? Are you comfortable with initial ambiguity, and do you enjoy creating program management plans and governance to assist internal AWS teams, partners, and customers achieve ambitious goals?

As Technical Program Manager, Consulting Partners, you will manage various programs in our Partner Consulting Center of Excellence. In this role you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with AWS architects, partner teams, geographic sales teams, and AWS industry teams to implement programs and solutions that accelerate customer AWS adoption of the cloud via our partners. You are experienced with program management, communications, reporting, strategy development, execution, and are highly organized. You also have an understanding of current cloud technology topics and partner well with technical and non-technical teams to collaborate on complex problems or opportunities, solving them with innovative solutions.

This is an ideal role for someone who has experience working for a Global System Integrator (GSI), a large IT consulting firm, or a Fortune 1000 company coupled with working knowledge of AWS, Cloud Economics, Business Case Development, Large Program management and executive interactions. This is a team effort which requires the ability to lead, influence, and coordinate with many stakeholders. Position may be located in Arlington, VA; Santa Clara, CA; Seattle, WA; Dallas, TX or any of our AWS hubs. Travel up to 25 %.

Key job responsibilities

Own the Technical Program Management of strategic initiatives between partners, customers and AWS.

Develop best practices, scalable mechanisms and repeatable processes for assigned program areas.

Implement program tracking and common project management principles (agile development, communication management, program management, change management, issue management, risk management)

Experience working with global teams.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and develop programs to enable the partners.

Participate in workshops, design sessions and other program management activates to drive program adoption by the partner and customer.

Organize workshops and facilitate the sharing of knowledge across the customer, partner and AWS teams.

Contribute to technical design and thought leadership through knowledge of current cloud technical topics and understanding of technical architecture and system design principles.

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 2+ years of software development experience

  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
