Nordstrom Technical Designer, Women's Active/Specialized (Hybrid, WA) in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week in order to be considered for this position.

As a Technical Designer, supporting Women's Active/Specialized, you will collaborate cross-functionally to develop apparel and deliver the technical design aspects and process for your products - ensuring they meet the Nordstrom Brand DNA. If you are passionate and experienced in technical design and are detail-oriented, obsessed with apparel development and committed to providing outstanding customer service, this may be the job for you.

A day in the life…

  • Collaborate with cross-functional peers and external partners to ensure product is aligned with development strategies and business needs

  • Develop clear, concise Tech Packs to include measurement worksheet and construction images to align with Design intent and Brand DNA

  • Lead fit sessions, and evaluate samples to ensure product specifications, quality and construction standards are being executed

  • Follow the sample through fit approvals in development and production to ensure intent is met

  • Communicate fit comments to suppliers to achieve desired corrections

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline product development and production processes, escalating when leadership involvement is needed

You own this if you have…

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in Technical Design or related field

  • A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Apparel Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Pattern Making or related field or equivalent industry experience

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

  • Exposure to 2D pattern software (Gerber Accumark, Optitex) and exposure to 3D apparel Development (Browzwear, CLO, Optitex), preferred; experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software; experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop); Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

  • Working knowledge of Grade Rules and tolerance

  • Working experience in communicating with vendors where English may not be their first language

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $69,500 - $132,000 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
