Blue Origin LLC Technical Designer - Stage 1 Tanks in Seattle, Washington

Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will design structures for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on the design of the Stage 1 Tank and subsystems. The team is hiring Structural Design Engineers at levels 2, 3 and 4 which vary in professional experience and skills. Candidates experience and qualifications will establish level. Employees will report to the Manager of Mechanical, Materials & Structural Engineering within the Stage 1 Tanks team.Responsibilities:Maintain and revise released drawings based on engineering change requests from within Blue Origin and outside Suppliers.Balance tasks across different products within the Stage 1 TanksMaintain high level Stage 1 Tank assembly including exporting data, fulfilling product structure requests and automating tasks with scripts.Design and maintain product definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepanciesApply relevant company, industry (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, lay-out, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets)Implement engineering and manufacturing standards to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirementsSupport existing standards for product structure organization and namingSelf-prioritize and self-schedule work activity in support of the teamAssist in the development and deployment of reasonable standards for drafting. Act as a drafting standards checker for the team.Work with engineering design and analysis teams to disposition or mitigate emergent issuesWe are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
