We’re looking for an amazing Technical Demand Planner to fill this hybrid role, which can be based in Seattle, WA, Santa Clarita, CA or Miami, FL. You’ll be responsible for responsible for generating demand plans for technical parts required to operate each vessel, ensure safe cruising and support cost saving/avoidance opportunities and will collaborate with shoreside and shipboard teams to align demand plans and optimize inventory levels. As Technical Demand Planner, you’ll analyze historical consumption, maintenance plans, and stakeholders’ inputs to predict the demand of technical parts and components. You’ll also maintain the demand planning tools, models, and reports using relevant software applications; monitor and measure how accurate and effective the demand plan is and take corrective actions for improvement. Finally, you’ll support initiatives and system implementation to help mature technical demand planning that mitigates risks, enables decision making and achieves company’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct demand planning process quarterly for the brands/vessels in charge, including:

  • Performing data preparation and manage data exceptions.

  • Maintaining effective demand planning tools and models.

  • Generating demand plans and forecasts which incorporate maintenance plans, stakeholders’ inputs, product life cycle management/changes, external insights or other factors.

  • Reviewing exceptions, forecast accuracy offenders and identify areas to improve the demand plans.

  • Communicating and publishing consensuses demand plans for supply chain partners, including inventory planning and sourcing team.

  • Communicating and publishing financial demand plans for budgeting and financial forecasting.

  • Collaborating to improve availability and reduce costs to support safe operations, compliance, and guest experience.

  • Conduct demand consensus reviews of their assigned categories/vessels. This position is the main contact with stakeholders to review/respond vessels’ or inventory planners’ feedback.

  • Responsible for forecast accuracy metrics, root causes analysis and take corrective actions for continuous improvements to ensure vessel safe operation and support cost savings/avoidance.

  • Actively contribute to demand planning/supply chain initiatives, projects, project of concepts, use case studies or pilot trials for their identified responsible vessels / categories / functions.

  • Document assumptions, process and procedures, and policies.

  • Identify root cause of data anomalies and discrepancies supporting the corrections within the system of record.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Statistics, Supply Chain or equivalent experience.

  • Supply Chain Certification, APICS(ASCM) or IBF.

  • At least 3 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management.

  • Spare parts planning experience preferred.

  • Preferred working knowledge of shipboard engineering or warehouse technical spares/inventory operations.

  • Preferred background in maritime industry with associated systems and processes.

  • Strong attention to detail, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work in agile and complex organizations under ambiguous circumstances with minimal supervision.

  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

  • Working knowledge of forecasting system, SAP IBP, JDA, Oracle Demantra.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

  • Innovative and “outside the box” thinking to support implementations and influence the changes.

  • Working understanding of Data Warehouse and data virtualization.

  • Ability to multi-task with an understanding of project priorities

  • Ability to succinctly and clearly communicate while interacting with various internal and external stakeholders.

  • Detailed understanding of relationship between inv. management, inventory control, demand planning, and supply planning.

  • Able to work with a diverse set of people from multiple countries.

  • Preferred experience in generating Senior Management level analysis and presentations.

  • Proficient in data collection and advanced knowledge of statistical analysis to interpret consumption trends.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ML/AI supported forecasting system.

  • Working knowledge of AMOS or similar WMS/ERP.

  • Inventory/forecasting system implementation experience.

  • Experience in planning of technical parts in maritime industry.

  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.

  • Base Salary Range: $82,000.00-$110,700.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
