Nordstrom Systems Analyst 2 - End User Support Team in Seattle, Washington
Job Description
Nordstrom is seeking a creative, curious, and passionate Systems Analyst 2 to join our End User Support (EUS) team supporting analytics. We work as the quantitative right-hand for EUS with a passion for supporting data-driven decision making, a devotion to advanced techniques, along with a creative team spirit. A core function of this role will include partnering with leadership to build accurate reporting.

In this hands-on role, you will deliver end-to-end analyses that transform data into actionable insights that directly inform our organization's strategy. This individual should have a high degree of curiosity about the business and the skills to discover impactful insights from data and communicate those insights in a way that builds confidence and enables decisions that drive business value.
Partner with key stakeholders to define success and develop measurement frameworks.
Dive deep into complex business problems and provide insights.
Responsible for delivering a suite of analytical products include analyses, dashboards, insights, and recommendations.
Present the results to the stakeholders up to executive level and guide them to make the best use of analytics in their domain.
Deliver high quality solutions and recommendations to a variety of problems both independently and through the collaboration with team members and business partners to drive outcomes.
Bring data to life through storytelling in a clear and meaningful way to audiences with mixed levels of technical expertise.
Reconcile divergent demands from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced work environment.
A day in the life…
Complete a wide variety of sophisticated ad hoc analyses that are designed to use raw data to provide key insights to the business, drive tactical performance, and generate results.
Maintain and build user facing dashboards in Looker/Tableau, allowing leadership to access overall performance, KPIs and quarterly goals
Creation and measurement of key performance indicators and metrics.
Use experimental design best practices; ensure that meaningful insights can be obtained from call center incentives at variance staffing levels.
Collaborate with other Call Center departments to advice management on materiality and timing of operational initiatives, agent level performance trends, and development of forecasted expectations.
Design and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, PowerPoint presentations, and exploratory analysis.
Analyze, collect, and assemble information deemed necessary to represent a variety of different courses of business directions and provide recommendations to management.
Minimum qualifications include…
3+ years hands-on industry experience in Analytics
2-3 years of strong coding skills in at least one statistical or programming language (e.g. SQL, R, Python) to import, process, summarize, and analyze data
Experience with utilizing data visualization tools to tell compelling data stories (e.g. Looker, PowerBI, Tableau)
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, operations research or in a quantitative field or related experience required
Proficiency with statistical techniques and when best to apply given current situation
Experience managing large projects or workstreams
Our ideal candidate has…
Strong critical thinking and storytelling skills
3 years of experience analyzing complex data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations
2+ years of experience with advanced BI visualization (Tableau or Looker preferred)
Ability to think strategically, seek to expand understanding of business domain, processes, data sources, and relevant key metrics
Passion and aptitude for turning sophisticated problems into concrete hypotheses that can be answered through meticulous data analysis
Experience working in a highly collaborative environment (e.g. contributing to team discussions/workshops, and document sharing)
