The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) team is seeking a System Design & Integration Specialist located in Seattle, WA. This position will be responsible for providing leadership to identify, evaluate, and document complex network system requirements. Applies expertise related to the architecture, design, build and test delivery of these complex network systems. Provides technical leadership to evaluate product usability, affordability, functionality, security and performance to assess suitability for integration into final delivery system environments. Validate requirements and designs through laboratory testing. Troubleshoots complex systems using tools such as Wireshark and through analysis of log files to aid in troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Understands the big picture and the inter-relationship of all position and activities in the systems including the impact of change in one area on another area.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads work with customers to develop and review system and software requirements for complex Network and interface specifications.

  • Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Must possess good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.

  • Recognized as a business unit-wide expert in process development and qualification, physical and functional integration and installation design and resolving supplier technical issues.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • 5+ years’ experience with developing system and/or software requirements definition

  • 5+ years knowledge of multi system integrations

  • 5+ years knowledge of network protocols, routing table definitions, and network architecture definition

  • 5+ years’ experience interfacing with external customers with design and integration of systems and services.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Experience with airplane communication protocols

  • Desire to learn and take on new challenges

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Associate’s degree and typically 15 or more years’ experience in leading cross functional disciplines or Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an leading cross functional disciplines or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in leading cross functional disciplines or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in leading cross functional disciplines.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Summary pay range: $154,700 – $209,300
